Client - Advanced Bionics, LLC. , a global leader in the development of implantable, high-technology neurostimulation devices, including new treatments for deafness and chronic pain.
The Challenge
To produce voiceover for the “Cecilia’s Story Video” in Spanish for use in South America hearing impaired clients.
Solution
Agnew worked with a selected team of translators/editors on the adaptation of the script for use in the South American market as well selected narrators for program voiceover and created subtitles and graphics. The educational video is to inspire families of deaf impaired individuals to look for new alternative solutions to improve their life style.
Client - Public communications Services (PCS) designs and installs inmate telephone systems for state federal and county correctional facilities across the United States. The system offers collect, pre-paid, and debit calling, as well as automated call processing and security features such as blocking of certain phone numbers.
The Challenge
To replicate all the features of the telephone system voice commands for use by the Navajo inmates of the Coconino Jail in Arizona when communicating with their relatives and friends in the Navajo languages.
Solution
The number of Navajo translators worldwide is extremely small, but due to the large talent base not only of translators but linguists in the academia, Agnew was able to cast a Navajo language team to successfully produce posters and brochures, and record all the voice commands for use by the Navajo inmates and their families and friends. Agnew's challenge was to translate and record the concepts of time and dates into Navajo since equivalents to English are non-existent. The time “second “ had to be rendered as “ the one that moves fast,” or the month of January as “when the snow freezes over.”
