Irene Agnew is founder and President of Agnew Multilingual. She has more than 30 years of experience in the translation field. Prior to establishing Agnew in 1986, she was a consultant for Bunker Ramo Corporation on machine translation research, translated Russian radio broadcasts for the U.S. State Department, was the head translator for Rand Corporation, and wrote a monthly column for Science Digest. Agnew’s primary goal is to make sure that clients’ multilingual marketing efforts not only meet but exceed their expectations.
Agnew was born in Harbin China of Russian heritage and educated in China, Japan and at UCLA. She is fluent in Russian, with a working knowledge of Japanese and Spanish.
As the Director of Business Development for Agnew Multilingual, Willow Baker is responsible for maintaining excellent relationship with clients and ensuring they benefit from Agnew’s vast experience and services.
Willow’s prior experience includes more than 15 years in media production and translation primarily with Words of Peace Global and The Prem Rawat Foundation and 12 years teaching English for marketing, journalism and public relations at graduate business schools in Paris. She earned an M.A. in Linguistics from the University of Paris and a B.A. from Denison University, Ohio. Willow is fluent in French.
Since 2007, Lina Gao has provided oversight for accounting and purchasing operations, personnel and staffing, vendor relations and project and proposal estimates at Agnew Multilingual. Lina supports both production and marketing with all the necessary resources to ensure smooth operations of all departments.
Lina received a B.A. in Finance from the University of Guangxi in China and is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese. Prior to joining Agnew, she worked for Healthcare Finance Consultant Company in Camarillo, Calif., and H&R Block in Thousand Oaks, Calif.
Weiyu Ren, an experienced linguist in Chinese, was promoted to Production Manager to oversee Agnew’s highly skilled team of project managers and coordinators, translators, designers, interpreters, narrators and video recording engineers.
Weiyu has a M.A. in Translation and Localization Management from Monterey Institute of International Studies. His prior experience includes translating websites, contracts, and marketing materials, as well as providing linguistic quality assurance.
Ivana Goodman joined Agnew Multilingual in 2006 as a project manager and was promoted to quality control manager in 2015. She is responsible for total quality control of all production and adherence to the ISO quality control standards included in the AgnewPRO translation management system.
Born in the Czech Republic, Ivana has a B.A. in Linguistics from Masaryk University, Czech Republic and is fluent in Czech, Spanish and Slovak, with a working knowledge of French.
Josh Bolton is a video production professional with more than 20 years of experience producing broadcast, corporate and online video content. He is responsible for developing Agnew’s video production department by enhancing each client’s ability to reach both their English and non-English speaking markets in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
A seasoned world traveler, Josh has produced videos in India, Southeast Asia, Europe and Australia, as well as Japan, Korea and all of the Americas.
